I think Dave is right in that a site that's done well will a big thing in the climbing community. Interestingly, for a while now I've been thinking about doing some kind of social network tailored towards the climbing community.

I personally find the layout of Ning to be worse than Facebook :)

Thanks Neil. Please, consider that Ning is just the first step. In the future, when in 9b there will be more members, I will invest some money to improve 9b code. If You want to cooperate in this aim, You're welcome !
Regarding Facebook: is not just Dave Mac Leod that finds it a bit of a pain to use ... me too ;-) To be honest, I really don't like nothing in Facebook ...

Sure, I'll help out if/where I can.

If you ignore the silly apps, then Facebook is OK as a messaging platform. I don't think any social network has hit that sweet spot where everything is just right. And I'm a realist: I don't expect that to happen any time soon! :)
