Sustenpass bouldering

Sustenpass bouldering area

Beautiful alpine bouldering area.
Great for summer, elevation is approx. 2000 m
Situated high on a mountain pass in the German speaking canton (state) of Uri.
The Sustenpass is often not free of snow until the end of May and thus closed to motor traffic until completely clear.

The rock is a granitic gneiss and is very rough. Crimps, edges and slopers.
Number of Problems: 170+ (5 sectors)

8 km further up the pass there is another bouldering area: Steingletscher.

Access (few minutes):
on the eastern side of the pass there is a small restaurant, the "Sustenbrüggli" (map here).
Park there and follow the way to the "Sustlihütte" (Sustli hut).
You will see the first boulders after a couple of minutes walking.
Some more minutes of walking and you will see many others, of all difficulties.

Free topo.
