The recent bolting inside il Grottone dei Colombi was based on these informations.

At the same time, there is this BIG example:

about how a bolter can be so GENEROUS to concretely realize rebolting is priority number 1.

To trasform Orosei gulf (from Siniscola to Baunei) area in a climbers paradise.

("Pietra di luna", 2012)

Every bolter is welcome to share this open dream, but, in any case, it is always better and suggested:

- before bolting, to obtain authorization from Dorgali Municipality, for example, writing them  the following letter

- without authorization from Dorgali Municipality, to not bolt, nothing.

ALLA CORTESE ATTENZIONE DEL COMUNE DI DORGALI (NU), ITALIA

Egregi Signori,

Allo stesso tempo, come appassionato scalatore:

Cordiali saluti

TO THE KIND ATTENTION OF DORGALI (NU, ITALIA) MUNICIPALITY

Dear Sirs,

basing on the informations shared (at this url: http://novebi.ning.com/group/il-grottone-dei-colombi/forum/topics/il-grottone-dei-colombi-sport-climbing-area ) by the italian climbing website “9b world CLIMBERS party”, I let you know as follows.

I would like to bolt new climbing routes inside/around il grottone dei Colombi, but I know these rocks are in SIC, Site of Community Importance area.

At the same time, me, as passionate climber:

  • I think, as a famous climber (Marc Le Menestrel), we have “a personal endless responsibility to pay attention to the needs of flora and fauna, whether access is regulated, where footpaths tread, waste is recycled, where we park ” and we always must strive to "make it mutually beneficial, in climbing areas, the relationship between outdoor activities and nature conservation, not a one-way journey where nature gets exploited in the name of conquest or even human pleasure seeking”; definitely “climbing must develop our ecological consciousness

  • agree with what was written ("prior to developing new marine crags it would be wiser to rebolt the existing ones") by Louis Piguet and I understand why Your priority is to rebolt the old routes already bolted around Dorgali and Cala Gonone and, as consequence, I agree and I would like to cooperate with You, making my best in order to prevent and avoid possible accidents to other climbers and to improve, with more safety, the quality of the climbing routes

  • I think is very important, to prevent possible accidents, to follow what UIAA recommended and to not bolt on stalactites as they could be fragile

  • I share the logo 9b jpg.jpgdream to trasform the area (at least from Punta Cartoe to Cala Luna) in a climbers paradise and, as consequence, share with You the priority to rebolt old routes there

  • I think that, if the Dorgali Municipality had available financial resources, the same should be used, primarily, for the purchase of Titanium bolts (unit cost not exceeding 9 euros, http://www.titanclimbing.com/) for all the top anchors and the first two points of protection, for all the routes, old and new. Just secondly, to remunerate the rebolting/bolting work.

So, basing on the above mentioned points, I highlight You my availability to as follows.

1) Rebolt, without compensation, old (already existing) routes, in case You give me:

- legale authorization to bolt a NEW route, for every old one I will have rebolt

- all the bolts (I suggest You, for every route, the first 2, the 2 at the anchor and the anchor itself, in titanium) to rebolt old routes and to bolt new ones

2) Let my rebolting and bolting activity under supervision and control from Alpine Guides

3) Make, in case of Alpine Guides reporting my possible mistakes in my rebolting and bolting activity, the requested corrections.

Thank You for your kind attention.

Best regards

Sell on 9b your climbing topos to other world climbers !

27cragsclimbervoice8a and many others are amazing sites, but sometimes, expecially if you worked a lot to envision, bolt, clean routes or boulders, you want to monetize a little your efforts.

9b can help you in this aim.

As you can see here, in 9b there are many " topo groups ".

You can add a discussion in every "topo group".

In your discussion you can edit and publish your own climbing topoguide, as a "paywall", a "destination page", requiring climbers their payment by credit card or paypal to access and read, even on SMARTPHONES (iphones, android phones, ...)

After having paid, climbers can see, save and print your climbing topoguide.

In this discussion you can add:

1) PHOTOS regarding one specific SECTOR (of routes or bouldering, dws lines)

a) "PHOTO topo":

It's very easy to edit a photo topo:

- upload a photo of a rock in a topo group discussion

- drawn the lines

- write names and grades (an example…
