Colorado is the place to be in the summertime if you’re asking me.. High alpine valleys, filled with wildflowers and blocks of all shapes, sizes, and grades are hanging around waiting to be climbed: as long as you’re willing to put in some walking. The bouldering near Mt. Evans is a prime example of high country bouldering at its finest, granting good conditions even in mid summer while the towns below simmer in the heat. A selection of granite at almost every grit and grain lies high in the talus or beneath a pine canopy, huffing at around eleven thousand feet. It’s my favorite place to climb in the Front Range area, and I spend most of the summer tromping around the stones, looking for something new to do.

This summer, I heaved through the added approach and spent the majority of my time exploring area B, about an hour and a half from the car. Much of the year, you’d do Grandpa proud: the approach is uphill, both ways, in the snow. But, for the three months or so that it’s not snowing, the wide valley of the Chicago Lakes Basin is a gorgeous palette of columbine and daisy and more. I got distracted early in the season and held off my explorations by the line that would eventually become Sunseeker (V13) at the hands of the visiting Nalle Hukkataival; a few days after his impressive ascent, I finished the climb, and carried on with the cleaning, mapping, and climbing I’d been waiting for. It was a beautiful summer, and I can’t wait to get back next year: so many things got left to the snow! But, the season was fruitful all the same… Here are some highlights, hope you enjoy ‘em !

27cragsclimbervoice8a and many others are amazing sites, but sometimes, expecially if you worked a lot to envision, bolt, clean routes or boulders, you want to monetize a little your efforts.

9b can help you in this aim.

As you can see here, in 9b there are many " topo groups ".

You can add a discussion in every "topo group".

In your discussion you can edit and publish your own climbing topoguide, as a "paywall", a "destination page", requiring climbers their payment by credit card or paypal to access and read, even on SMARTPHONES (iphones, android phones, ...)

After having paid, climbers can see, save and print your climbing topoguide.

In this discussion you can add:

1) PHOTOS regarding one specific SECTOR (of routes or bouldering, dws lines)

a) "PHOTO topo":

It's very easy to edit a photo topo:

- upload a photo of a rock in a topo group discussion

- drawn the lines

- write names and grades (an example…
